BIO
Shrink the Giant is a playful yet thoughtful group of multi-instrumentalists Stefania Barr, Sebastian Barr, Jean-Christian Barr, Morgan Handley, and Alec Lowe. They draw inspiration from a broad spectrum of influences and centuries, ranging from Bowie to Beck, Talking Heads to Paramore, CPE Bach to Cage the Elephant.
From a Utah town with only two stoplights, Shrink the Giant recorded their debut album in a bedroom studio on an old, overheating laptop, reusing the same bag of frozen brussels sprouts to keep the CPU cool. They sold out their run of 1000 discs, gaining a loyal grassroots following, sending handwritten “thank you” notes with each CD, and receiving handwritten fan mail from around the world. Embraced by fans and supported by local promoters, the group opened for Neon Trees, Imagine Dragons, and others. Shrink the Giant toured and sold out shows locally before recording their second full-length album “Faceless.”
After shows, shows, and more shows… Shrink the Giant brought a new, refined and evolved sound back to the studio. Their 4 new singles this year have surprised and delighted fans, staying true to the band’s usual bold genre play and world building. Each is accompanied by a cinematic music video. "Tick Talk," with it's asylum-inspired visuals (directed by lead singer Stefania Barr), immediately garnered local and worldwide attention, FM radio playtime, and daily growing views on YouTube. The second of their new singles, "My Demands," dropped next, dripping in attitude, groove, and a shimmering performance video to match. Follow up single "We're Both Idiots" is a seething breakup track with earwormy hooks, and subsequent "Slow Lane" is an ultra listenable bedroom pop tune that encourages a slower, more mindful approach to life.
The band is thrilled to release their next upcoming singles to their growing audience, with a third full length record to come. The group is also looking forward to adding tour dates to accompany the album release.

Mark Berman, SPIN IT! Reviews
"If you're looking for really well done indie pop rock with relatable subject matter, versatile instrumentation, and infectious hooks, I'd definitely recommend Shrink the Giant."
Chris Robley, CD Baby
"Pretty diverse in terms of modern pop rock influences. Brash young female vocals. Energetic, yet confessional. Kinda like a cross between Avril and Metric. The soundtrack to a broken-hearted video game romance sponsored by Red Bull."
Ischa Bee, SLUG Magazine
"Shrink the Giant is... pop, polished and positively charming. Singer Stefania Barr has a great voice, all of the instrumentation is tight and mixed well, the songs are well written... modern and ready for the masses."
